Stinker

Posted by
dang (Atlanta, United States) on 1 September 2012 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

The crop on this was to remove an ugly section of leaf, otherwise the insect is the same size as "in frame".

Since election time is coming up, I thought I'd pass on a link for any of the independents out there to show all the presidential candidates running. Included on the site is some of their photos, and links to their sites. I'll let it speak for it's self as I'm still scratching my head...

Richard Geven from Montferland, Netherlands

A wonderful result with the 65mm!!!
Isn't easy to work with this lens...

@Richard Geven: Thanks Richard.

Spike from Bristol, United Kingdom

Handsome fellow. The thing I like about the various shield/stink bugs is that they show a lot of "personality", for want of a better word.

@Spike: Hi Spike, Yes they do. Not as much as mantis, but different angles seems to give their face expression. Thanks.

Tede from Aubenas 07, France

Carol from Leamington ON, Canada

Ahh, this is a winner dang.... a super macro of the Stinker, for sure! So clear with great detail... nice markings and color, look at those big eyes! He looks good!

@Carol: Hi Carol, This guy hadn't developed wings, so he's much smaller than you'd usually think a stinker would be. But I managed shots of him using the 100, and 65mm lenses before he ran. Thanks!

Jackie from Montréal, Canada
