I love the spot on focus and DOF. He seems so furry at first I wanted to pet him. If it wasn't for your wonderful images I would not have known what a Weevil looks like.
I am thrilled to see a link to your "How to" website. Your images and knowledge really get a grip on my wanting to do macro. Thank you for showing us the tiny beautiful world out there.

@Barbara: Thanks, Barb.
It's surprising how furry most insects are once you really see them. To be honest, I'm not sure what determines the difference between a weevil, and beetle as they're so similar. You've got me thinking now, so I'll have to research a bit. I'm updating the information and working on additional pages for the "how to" now. Hopefully I'll have them ready in the next few days, and will include some info on other things besides macro. Sorry I'm not able to add specifics about Sony for you.
Thanks, I'll get by later to day to catch up. :-)

I can't say I've ever seen a weevil myself, though for about 100 miles on the way to my mother's house there are these little orange cups hanging on sticks that say they're part of a Boll Weevil eradication program. He actually looks kinda cute compared to most insects at this magnification.

@Twelvebit: Yeah.. weevils & beetles can be pests, especially to farm land. But others, such as lady bugs, are beneficial since they eat aphids. Just part of mother natures balancing act that needs to be watched closely.
Thanks!

@Sandrine: Thanks, Sandrine. I'm a bit tied up at the moment, but I'll get back around in a few days. Lots going on with the holiday. C'ya soon. :-)
