There's not very many species around my area with what I consider spectacular eyes. A few bees are fairly interesting, but that's about it. There's some flies in other places that are truly amazing, but we shoot what's available eh.:-)

@paulski: Hi Paul,
These have been difficult for me, since I've usually found them in thicker covering. After this shot, I indeed tried getting closer, but it scooted. This shot is over 2X, and I assume the flash scared it. At these magnifications, the lens front is usually less than 2 inches from them, and I'm using a ring flash. Maybe I can get a 24EX one of these days, which should help.
